Let’s start week 4 of EKU Library Learning 2.0 a little early…..

Have you been participating in the Learning 2.0 program and are starting to feel  overwhelmed?  Do feel like you now have a lot of fun blogs and Flickr pages you want to keep up with but don’t know how you’re going to find the time?

RSS to the rescue!  This week we will be learning about RSS feeds and the best invention ever – the feed reader, also sometimes called a news reader or aggregator.  With a feed reader and some simple copy and pasting, new stuff will come to YOU instead of you having to visit all your favorite sites for new content that often isn’t there.

Please see lesson # 8 to get started:  http://ekulibrarylearning.blogspot.com/2007/07/8-make-life-really-simple-with-rss.html.  Lesson #9 will be much shorter and will come on Wednesday.

Don’t forget to send the link from your blog post to ekulibrarylearning@gmail.com to get credit for completing this lesson.

Mark your calendars for the brownbag on this topic.  It will be on Friday, July 27 from 12 - 1pm in Room 204a

If you have you been thinking about participating in the Learning 2.0 program but just haven’t gotten around to it this week would be a great time to jump in.  Catch up on blogs, social networking, and Flickr and see how RSS feeds can help you manage all of those things.  Plus, the following week is a play week, so there’s no better time to get started than today!
